List of books portraying paedophilia or sexual abuse of minors

This article presents a list of books in which an adult is portrayed as feeling or acting on a sexual attraction to a pre-pubescent child or an adult sexually abuses a minor child. The pedophilic attraction or sexual abuse may be central to the plot or incidental. The attraction or abuse may be to a single specific individual or to several children.

The list is divided into fiction and non-fiction. Within each alphanumeric division of the list the works are further divided according to the gender of the principal youthful object(s) of the sexual attraction or abuse.

This article lists books. There are equivalent lists of films, songs, and works for the theatre.

The list is almost completely limited to fiction and studies in the English language. Many books on this subject are also available in other languages, both literary and scientific. Most of them have their origin in European languages such as in French, German, Dutch, Scandinavian languages. Some are mentioned on the list when an English translation has been published and made available.

A number of books have been published on the Mary Kay Letourneau case. She was arrested and imprisoned for having sex with Vili Fualaau, a 13-year-old boy with whom she had two children and subsequently married.

In 1993, five paintings and thirty-five drawings were removed from an exhibition of works by Eli Langer at Mercer Union by the Toronto Police. Charges made under the Child Pornography Act were subsequently withdrawn, but Langer's paintings and drawings were subject to a forfeiture order. The works of art depict children involved in sexual acts.

The manga work But I'm Your Teacher by Yoshino Somei has a short story where a convicted pedophile photographer picks up a young foreign boy in order to use him as the subject of his work. Throughout the story, the boy is raped by a man brought in by the photographer, and later instigates consensual sex with the photographer himself.

Shotacon is a Japanese term for a sexual complex where an adult is attracted to an underage boy and is applied to artwork or manga depicting pre-pubescent or pubescent boys. Boku no Pico is an example of a shotacon anime. The female equivalent of shotacon could be considered lolicon.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, literally translated as Club-To-Death Angel is a fiction series written by Masaki Okayu. It was a serialised Japanese light novel, then manga and anime versions were created. A young boy stops girls aged 12 from maturing and is accused of creating a pedophile's heaven. Blue displays sexual interest towards a young boy.

There are many Booker Prize and Nobel Prize-winning authors on the Vintage list and the imprint publishes a huge variety of fiction and non-fiction. Over the years Vintage has expanded and the list now includes both great authors of the past — who are published under the Vintage Classics imprint — as well as many of the most influential authors of the present.

Books of the Bible

Gold Christian Cross no Red.svg

The Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic churches may have minor differences in their lists of accepted books. The list given here for these churches is the most inclusive: if at least one Eastern church accepts the book, it is included here. The books included by the Roman Catholic Church are universally included in the Eastern canons.

A table cell with an asterisk (*) indicates that a book is present but in a different order. Empty cells indicate that a book is absent from that canon; such books are often called apocrypha, a term that is sometimes used specifically (and possibly pejoratively) to describe the books in the Catholic and Orthodox canon that are absent from the Protestant Bible; Orthodox and Catholic Christians describe these books as deuterocanonical, meaning 'of the second canon'.

Note that this table uses the spellings of the Douay-Rheims Bible in describing the Catholic biblical canon. More recent Catholic translations use similar or identical spellings (e.g. 1 Chronicles) as Protestant Bibles in those books which are jointly considered canonical.

In general, among Christian groups the New Testament canon is agreed-upon, although book order can vary.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has a few additional books in its canon: Jubilees, Book of Enoch, 4 Baruch along with three books of Maccabees that are unique to their canon.

The Peshitta excludes 2-3 John, 2 Peter, Jude, and Revelation, but Bibles of the modern Syriac Orthodox Church include later translations of those books along with the Letter of Baruch (sometimes included as part of 2 Baruch). Still today the official lectionary followed by the Syrian Orthodox Church (with headquarters at Kottayam (Kerala), and the Chaldean Syriac Church, also known as the Church of the East (Nestorian), with headquarters at Trichur (Kerala)) presents lessons from only the twenty-two books of Peshitta, the version to which appeal is made for the settlement of doctrinal questions.

The Third Epistle to the Corinthians and the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs were once considered part of the Armenian Orthodox Bible, but are no longer printed with modern editions.

These are the Apocrypha as defined by the Thirty-nine Articles of Anglicanism. The apocryphal Books are listed in the order of the Vulgate.
